शिक्षा मंत्री डॉ0 धन सिंह रावत ने मीडिया को जारी एक बयान में बताया कि विद्यालयी शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा प्रवक्ता संवर्ग के अंतर्गत सामन्य एवं महिला शाखा के सीधी भर्ती के रिक्त 571 पदों पर चयन हेतु उत्तराखंड लोक सेवा आयोग को अधियाचन भेजा था, जिस पर आयोग ने परीक्षा का अंतिम परिणाम घोषित कर विभिन्न विषयों के 449 शिक्षकों का चयन कर दिया है, जबकि विभिन्न श्रेणी के शेष पदों पर योग्य अभ्यर्थी न मिलने के कारण चयन नहीं किया गया। डॉ0 रावत ने आयोग द्वारा चयनित शिक्षकों को शुभकामनाएं देते हुए कहा कि वह अपने दायित्वों एवं कर्तव्यों का भली-भांति निर्वहन करेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि आयोग से चयनित विभिन्न विषयों के 449 शिक्षकों को विभागीय प्रक्रिया पूर्ण करते हुए शीघ्र तैनाती के आदेश विभागीय अधिकारियों को दे दिये गये हैं। चयनित प्रवक्ताओं को पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों के विभिन्न स्कूलों में नियुक्ति दी जायेगी ताकि पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में पठन-पाठन सुचारू रूप से चल सके। विभागीय मंत्री ने बताया कि उत्तराखंड लोक सेवा आयोग द्वारा आयोजित परीक्षा में प्रवक्त संवर्ग की सामान्य शाखा के अंतर्गत अंग्रेजी विषय में 64, हिन्दी में 81, संस्कृत में 18, भौतिक विज्ञान में 46, रसायन विज्ञान में 42, गणित में 6, जीव विज्ञान में 35, नागरिकशास्त्र में 38, अर्थशास्त्र में 74, इतिहास में 8, भूगोल में 17, समाजशास्त्र में 6, कला, मनोविज्ञान एवं कृषि में एक-एक अभ्यर्थियों का चयन हुआ है। जबकि महिला शाखा के अंतर्गत हिन्दी विषय में 2, रसायन विज्ञान, जीव विज्ञान एवं अर्थशास्त्र में 3-3 अभ्यर्थियों का चयन हुआ है। डॉ0 रावत ने बताया कि सरकार का मकसद स्कूलों में शत-प्रतिशत शिक्षकों की तैनाती करना है ताकि कोई भी छात्र-छात्राएं विद्यालयी शिक्षा से वंचित न रह सके।
