वीर चन्द्र सिंह गढ़वाली उत्तराखण्ड वानिकी एवं औद्यानिकी विश्वविद्यालय ने राष्ट्रीय पोषण माह के तहत एक गोष्ठी का आयोजन किया। टिहरी के रानीचैंरी स्थित वानिकी महाविद्यालय परिसर के कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र में आयोजित इस गोष्ठी में महिलाओं और बच्चों के बेहतर पोषण पर जौर दिया गया। गोष्ठी में पोषण के पांच सूत्रों सुनहरे हजार दिन, ऐनीमियां, डायरिया, स्वच्छता और पोष्टिक आहार के बारे चर्चा की गई। इस मौके पर विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर ए के कर्नाटका और सीडीओ टिहरी सहित आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकत्रियां मौजूद रही। गोष्ठी को सम्बोधित करते हुये कुलपति ने कहा कि सही पोषण न मिल पाने के कारण महिलायंे और बच्चे कुपोषण का शिकार हो जाते हैं। उन्होने कहा कि लोगों की जीवन शैली में बदलाव का असर भोजन पर पड़ रहा है और कई लोग बिना पोषक तत्वों के भोजन की आदत डाल चुके है, जिसका असर सीधे तौर पर उनके शरीर पर पड़ रहा है। कुलपति ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय पोषक तत्वों से भरपूर भोजन पर विभिन्न शोध कर रहा है। उन्होने कहा कि पर्वतीय इलाकों में पोषक तत्वों से भरपूर भोजन उत्तपादित होता है, जिसमें मंडुआ, झंगोरा और रामदाना सहित कई प्रकार की फसलें हैं। विश्वविद्यालय पर्वतीय फसलों से बनाये जाने वाले उत्तपादों पर जौर दे रहा है। इस मौके पर सीडों टिहरी अभिषेक रूहेला ने कहा कि आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकत्रियों और बाल विकास विभाग की मदद से ग्रामीण और शहरी इलाकों में सही पोषण से सम्बन्धित जानकारी और सामग्री उपलब्ध कराई रही है, जिससे कुपोषण की समस्या से बचा जा सके।
