प्रतापनगर ब्लॉक के ग्राम पंचायत पड़िया निवासी एयर कोमोडर राजेश भंडारी को भारतीय वायु सेना के सर्वोच्च पदों में से एक एयर वाईस मार्शल पद पर पदोन्नति मिल गई है। वह एयर चीफ मार्शल के पीएसओ (प्रिंसिपल स्टॉफ ऑफिसर) होंगे। वायुसेना के इतने बड़े पद पर पहुंचने वाले वह टिहरी के दूसरे अधिकारी हैं। शुक्रवार को नई दिल्ली में उन्हें पदोन्नति दी गई। उनकी नियुक्ति पर जिलेभर के जनप्रतिनिधियों और प्रतापनगर संघर्ष समिति ने खुशी जताई है। रैका पट्टी के ग्राम पंचायत पडिया निवासी व पूर्व दायित्वधारी प्रवीण भंडारी ने बताया कि एयर कमोडोर राजेश भंडारी एयर वॉइस मार्शल पद पर तैनात हुए हैं। उनकी शिक्षा-दीक्षा देहरादून में हुई है। वह 15 दिसंबर 1990 को एयरफोर्स में कमीशनंड हुए थे। इसके बाद 15 दिसंबर 1995 को फ्लाइट लेफ्टिनेंट, 16 दिसंबर 2004 को विंग कमांडर, 1 जनवरी 2015 को ग्रुप कैप्टन, 1 फरवरी 2022 को एयर कोमोडर पद पर पदोन्नति हुए थे। उनके पिता स्व. ललित सिंह भंडारी एसएसबी से एसएसपी रिटायर्ड थे, जबकि माता स्व. रामेश्वरी देवी गृहणी थी। बताया कि उनके बड़े भाई कुलदीप भंडारी उत्तरकाशी में व्यवसायी हैं, जबकि बड़ी बहन सुनीता नेगी चंडीगढ़ और सावित्री भंडारी जोधपुर में निवासरत हैं और दोनों बैंक से रिटायर्ड हैं। उनके चचेर भाई सुरेंद्र भंडारी भी आईटीबीपी दिल्ली में तैनात हैं। उनकी पत्नी ज्योति भंडारी दिल्ली के ख्याति प्राप्त गोयंका स्कूल दिल्ली में शिक्षिका रही हैं। जबकि पुत्री स्वाति भंडारी बेंगलुरु में डॉक्टर और पुत्र तेजस भंडारी बैंगलुरू से एमबीए कर रहा है। पूर्व दायित्वधारी प्रवीण भंडारी के अनुसार एयर कमोडोर भंडारी शादी, सार्वजनिक समारोह और पूजा-अर्चना कार्यक्रमों में गांव में जरूर आते हैं। चार माह पूर्व ही वह गांव में आयोजित सामूहिक पूजा कार्यक्रम में पड़िया पहुंचे थे। बताया कि वह बचपन से ही होनहार और कुशाग्र बुद्धि के थे। अपनी मेहनत और जज्बे से आज वह एयर वाईस मार्शल पद तक पहुंचे हैं। प्रतापनगर के विधायक विक्रम नेगी, पूर्व विधायक विजय पंवार, प्रमुख प्रदीप रमोला, सुनीता देवी, आनंद रावत, प्रतापनगर संघर्ष समिति के अध्यक्ष गुरू प्रसाद भट्ट, उपाध्यक्ष अरविंद नौटियाल, त्रिलोक रमोला, कैलाश रमोला, प्रधान संगीता देवी, रंजन भंडारी, जिपंस नीलम बिष्ट, शिव सिंह बिष्ट, रमेश रतूड़ी, मान सिंह रौतेला आदि ने खुशी जताते हुए इसे प्रतापनगर सहित टिहरी और प्रदेश के लिए गौरव का विषय बताया है। इससे पहले प्रतापनगर विधानसभा के नेल्डा गांव निवासी एयर मार्शल विजयपाल सिंह राणा वायुसेना के उच्च पद पर पहुंचे थे। वह एयर चीफ मार्शल के सलाहकार के पद पर पहुंचने वाले टिहरी के पहले और उत्तराखंड के दूसरे ऑफिसर थे। उन्होंने भी एयर कमोडोर राजेश भंडारी के नियुक्ति पर खुशी जताते हुए प्रदेश और देश के लिए प्रेरणादायक खबर बताया है। कहा कि उत्तराखंड सैन्य प्रदेश है। यहां से सीडीएस जनरल रावत से लेकर कई बडे़-बड़े सैन्य अधिकारी, जवान देश को मिले हैं।
