देहरादून- अपने सुरीले आवाज और गीत संगीत और लेखनी से देश और दुनिया में लाखों लोगों के दिलों में जगह बनाने वाले विख्यात गायक गढ़रत्न नरेंद्र सिंह नेगी को आठ अप्रैल को संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। नई दिल्ली में राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद उन्हें यह प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान देंगे। नरेंद्र सिंह नेगी को वर्ष 2018 के लिए यह पुरुस्कार दिया जा रहा है उनके साथ कला व साहित्य क्षेत्र की 44 अन्य हस्तियों को भी यह पुरस्कार दिया जाएगा। इस सम्मान को प्राप्त करने के बाद 13 अप्रैल का नई दिल्ली में ही नेगीदा की एक प्रस्तुति भी होनी है। पारंपरिक लोक संगीत के क्षेत्र में दस कलाकारों का चयन किया गया है, जिनमें नरेंद्र सिंह नेगी भी शामिल हैं। इस सम्मान के तहत उन्हें एक लाख की राशि, अंगवस्त्र और ताम्रपत्र भी दिया जाएगा। नरेंद्र सिंह को यह सम्मान मिलने पर उनके देश विदेश में बसे प्रशंसको में खुशी की लहर है।संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार का इतिहास , संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कारों का निकाय अब पचास वर्ष से अधिक पुराना है। हिंदुस्तानी और कर्नाटक संगीत में पुरस्कार 1951 की शुरुआत में स्थापित किए गए थे और इन्हें राष्ट्रपति पुरस्कार के रूप में जाना जाता था। अकादमी की व्यवस्था के साथ पुरस्कारों को संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार के रूप में जाना जाने लगा। 1952 और 1953 के राष्ट्रपति पुरस्कारों को संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कारों की सूची में शामिल किया गया।
