संसद भवन में आज सुबह 11 बजे वोटों की गिनती शुरु हो गई थी। राष्ट्रपति पद के लिए NDA उम्मीदवार द्रौपदी मुर्मू सांसदों के 748 मतों में से 540 मत पाकर आगे चल रही थीं, जबकि विपक्ष के उम्मीदवार यशवंत सिन्हा को 208 वोट ही मिल पाए। निर्वाचन अधिकारी पी.सी.मोदी ने कहा कि 15 सांसदों के मत अमान्य पाए गए थे। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि इस राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में प्रत्येक सांसद के मत का मूल्य 700 है और मुर्मू को मिले कुल मतों का मूल्य 5,23,600 है, जो कि सांसदों के कुल वैध मतों का 72.19 प्रतिशत है, यह उनके पक्ष में ‘क्रॉस वोटिंग’ किए जाने का संकेत देता है। दूसरी ओर, सिन्हा के कुल मतों का मूल्य 1,45,600 था, जो कुल वैध मतों का 27.81 प्रतिशत है।
